RABBI YITZCHAK SALID

Posek

As the halachic compass for Sunshine State Kosher, Rabbi Yitzchak Salid guides the Agency through the complex and churning waters of Jewish law and shoulders the responsibility for charting and maintaining the proper halachic course for all facets of the Agency. He has been the director of PATH (Project for the Advancement of Torah in Hollywood) since 2008. Prior to that Rabbi Salid lived in Yerushalayim and was a maggid shiur at Yeshiva Bircas HaTorah in the Old City. Rabbi Salid received semicha from Ner Yisrael (Rav Ruderman z’tl) and Dayan semicha from Rav Yaakov Weinberg zt’l. He has worked in kiruv and Jewish education
both in Israel and America, including Memphis and Birmingham. Rabbi Salid has a passion for teaching Torah to Jews of all levels and backgrounds. It is a tremendous honor and privilege to have such a gem in the midst of our Southeastern Florida community.

RABBI MOSHE BERGER

Kashrus Administrator

Born in Tucson, Arizona, Rabbi Berger earned a bachelors degree in music and religious studies from the University of Virginia, a masters degree in education from Boston University, and a paralegal certification from Bentley College. He earned his semicha from Yeshivat Pirchei Shoshanim in Jerusalem and from the Rabbanut HaRashit. Rabbi Berger’s 40 years of experience in kosher supervision include a very close association with many of the national hashgachas and with several local ones across the United States. He is active in AKO (the Association of Kashrus Organizations), an international consortium of kashrus agencies. Rabbi Berger has taught in both formal and informal Jewish educational milieus, including working with educationally and/or emotionally challenged children, as a rebbe, a secular studies teacher, and as a music teacher. He is a former instructor trainer and curriculum designer for American Red Cross safety services courses.

RABBI ALLEN SAKS

Director of Supervisions

Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Rabbi Saks attended Yeshiva University for both undergraduate and graduate studies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in Education and Education Administration. After earning his semicha from Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchonon Theological Seminary (RIETS), Rabbi Saks’ career in Jewish education took him to West Caldwell NJ, Allentown PA, Calgary Canada, Harrisburg PA and most recently to Hollywood FL. Throughout his many years as both a teacher and as a principal, he was also involved in the local kashrus organizations in many of those cities, most recently as a full time Rabbinic Coordinator for one of the local kashrus agencies in Southeastern Florida. Rabbi Saks has been with Sunshine State Kosher since its inception in the summer of 2018, bringing a fresh, community-involved approach to kosher supervision in the South Florida area.

Our team of experts are on hand to provide kashrus services that suit the needs of our community.
